Exponential growth in complexity is the new reality
The demands on financial service providers are rising on multiple levels at the same time. New technologies are emerging in ever shorter cycles. Cyber threats are constantly evolving. Regulatory requirements are increasing. At the same time, customers expect innovation, speed, and the highest quality.
The temptation is great to respond to these challenges with individual technologies or projects. But this is exactly where the challenge lies. A new cloud platform, an additional security tool, or an AI initiative does not automatically solve complexity. What matters is how technology, processes, responsibility, and people work together.
That became clear at ix.perience. Insights from Migros Bank and Visana showed that transformation is always also an organizational task. Modernization succeeds when dependencies are identified, priorities aligned, and decisions are jointly supported.
High speed requires trust
In his keynote, Niels Hintermann added another perspective. In ski racing, decisions must be right at top speed. That’s only possible with preparation, clear processes, and trust.
The same applies to transformation. Speed does not come from making decisions as quickly as possible. It comes when it’s clear who is responsible, capabilities work together, and those involved can rely on one another. This makes trust an important factor for the ability to act.
From supplier to shared responsibility
For complex transformation initiatives, the classic relationship between client and service provider is increasingly insufficient. Banks and insurers need partners who not only deliver services but also share responsibility. This is especially evident in cyber security. Security is not created solely in the SOC, nor through additional tools. It is created through clear roles, shared governance, aligned priorities, and consistent execution.
The central question therefore is not: Who is responsible?
But rather: How do we solve the challenge together?
For us, that is exactly the core of modern partnerships on equal footing.
ix.perience 2026 showed that complexity will not disappear. But it can be managed. When knowledge, responsibility, and technology interact in the right way, the result is speed, resilience, and competitive advantages.
Thanks to all customers, speakers, and guests for the open discussions and the valuable exchange at ix.perience 2026.
